Angie Dillard

Bio

Angie began her professional acting career in 1979 at the historic Barn Dinner Theatre in Marietta, GA as The Girl in George Axelrod’s, The Seven Year Itch. The role made famous in the film by Marilyn Monroe. The successful production was extended by 6 weeks and was followed by several other roles in regional productions including, Peggy Evans in Come Blow Your Horn, Mina in Dracula and Gloria Upson in Mame. In 1983, she and her producer/director husband co-founded Theatre in the Square in Marietta, GA, the most successful regional professional theatre in the Atlanta area for over 30 years. To date, she has performed in over 40 stage productions including, Chris in Neil Simon’s Rumors, Clairee in Steel Magnolias, Chelsea Thayer in On Golden Pond and Dinah in The Dixie Swim Club. In 2017 she added several audio books including the biography, "I Love the Illusion," about Agnes Moorehead.

Angie became a member of SAG in 1982 following a national Pizza Hut commercial. Other national and regional spots and roles include Pioneer Chicken, NAPA Auto Parts, Imedeen, Superior Court, Days of Our Lives, Scream 2, Devious Maids, Taken 3 & STAR. In 1983-87 while living in Los Angeles, she studied Situation Comedy acting at ABC studios and the Improv Theatre under famed acting coach, Bill Hudnut, commercial acting with Beth Launer and on-camera acting with a variety of coaches and casting directors including Peter Breck, Adam Hill, Cherie Franklin and Beth Launer. While the industry was on hiatus each summer, she toured the country with the Hollywood Cover Girls, a team of real softball players consisting of up-and-coming actresses and models. Like the movie, A League of Their Own, this team played other celebrity teams, radio stations and minor league baseball teams in exhibition games for charity.

In 1988, Angie returned to Atlanta and in 1989, became the host and co-producer of Campus Live on the CBS affiliate, WAGA-TV 5. She garnered 4 Southeastern Emmy nominations for the popular magazine style program which ran nearly 17 years collectively on the CBS and FOX affiliates as well as Georgia Public Television.

In 2010, after nearly two decades of not pursuing a TV and Film career outside of hosting Campus Live, Angie reinvented herself at yet another stage of her life and aggressively re-entered the business of auditioning, taking classes with Ted Brunetti & Shay Griffin while marketing herself in a whole new generation of the growing Atlanta TV, Film & Voice-over industry.
